Another Remembrance of Sept. 11 Today

Today marks the anniversary of a day that will live in the memory and heart of America forever.  The attacks on September 11 have been etched into the minds of our people and will never be forgotten.  The sudden and tragic deaths of over 3,000 people helped forged our nation together and has made us stronger in the face of terrorism.  It is because of this event that I joined the Marine Corps.

The president spoke today and reminded the American people that we are not at war with Islam; we are at war with those who have turned that religion into something it was never meant to be.  I know that many people around the world joined together for a moment of silence in remembrance of those who gave their lives for their country.

Great movie

I was talking to my mother and she asked me if I had seen the movie Secretariat yet.  I had never even heard of it so I asked what it was about.  She said it was a movie about the only horse she ever bet on in her life and it won.  Well that got my interest up.

I have to admit, it was a great movie.  Man that was one amazing animal.  It was great to see how this everyday housewife stuck to her guns and would not let anything stop her from seeing this horse run, and man could he ever run.  If you haven’t seen this movie, I recommend it, especially if you have to watch something your lady friend would like too.

Saint Patrick’s Day parade

The morning started out just perfectly. The whole family was excited and ready to have a great day. It worked out that we did. We went to see the parade down in Norfolk and we all had a good time watching it. Of course we were all decked out in green.

Once we found a place to park, we jumped out into the streets. We walked for a minute and then found a good spot to watch the parade from. It was worth all the fuss. The kids had a lot of fun and we made some new memories. I hope we can make next year’s parade as well.

Social Media

Okay, it seems like everyone is linked to some type of social media site.  No I’m not going to take the time to list them for you because you probably know more about them than I do.  One thing I have noticed is that a lot of people are sticking their foot in their mouths on these sites.

When will people learn that looking up an old flame from back in the day isn’t a good idea if you have a new flame in your life.  Heck, I may not be the brightest crayon in the box but even I know that can cause trouble in your relationship.  Come on people, use that grey matter between your ears.
