November 2009

Another Thanksgiving Day has come and we are celebrating in full force. We are the proud owners of a 23 pound bird that is currently in the oven. I love the way the smell permeates the house and makes everyone ready to eat. The best part is that the whole family is here to enjoy the day with us. I like to spend time talking with everyone and catching up on the latest news.

I hope everyone else out there has a great day as well. I also hope that those people who are less fortunate than us will enjoy some of the food that we donated to a local food bank. I certainly hope that no one will go hungry today. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Red Cross sale

One of the great American institutions is the American Red Cross. They have helped millions of people throughout the years when there was no one else to turn too. The problem is that they are now operating at a loss and need money to help bridge the gap. This has led to the sale of over 100,000 items of historical items that they have amassed over the years.

Most of the items can be bid on or purchased on the internet. Some items have been saved by sending them to the National Archives or museums. I hope that everyone will remember to donate a few dollars this year to this worthy charity.
