The home building market took a huge hit over the last several years. As home prices dropped and left many people underwater, the market tanked and left thousands of home builders out of a job. For a brief time, the new home buyer tax credit offered by the Obama administration steadied the market, but that has run out and home sales are down again.

The housing market is slipping all across the U.S. many major cities report that home sales are down and prices are falling. Many homeowners who were hoping to sell and move are now reconsidering their options. All in all, things look bleak for the near future.

The grocery store had a huge box of fresh pineapples on sale for $2 a piece. That is a bargain price and I love fresh pineapple. So I bought two and they will be ripe by the weekend. Sounds like pina coladas and grilled pineapple will be on the weekend cookout menu.

Found a button on the floor and wonder where it came from. It’s small and has a brown swirl pattern. It doesn’t go with any of my shirts. I can’t figure out what is missing a brown button. Of course, as soon as I throw the button in the trash, a piece of clothing will come up missing a brown button.

This month started off with a huge cold front that swept half the Nation and dumped snow on people from Oklahoma to Georgia and up the Coast to Maine.

At my house it started sleeting Saturday night around dinner time and by bed time it had changed to snow. So the snow fell on a frozen slick bed of ice and had a nice foundation to make the roads very slippery and dangerous. When I woke up Sunday morning it was still snowing. The ground was covered with snow and ice, but the roads were clear, as the salt trucks did a great job all night.

There’s a cable channel for Do It yourself home improvements and they have a pretty cool web site to go along with the show. The web site has video clips of their projects and links to a lot of contests that they run.

I just entered a contest to win a dream garage and another one to win a dream home. They have a contest running that’s about to end where you can win a dream log cabin that they are using to shoot the current log cabin projects series.

For some strange reason all the list of previous winners have photos with them and they are all women. WTF? Why are just women winning these cool prizes? Is it because guys don’t enter the contests? Or do the women site around the house all day with nothing to do but re-enter these contests with daily entries?
